Create a Love List about your Husband

Have you ever created a love list about your husband? Whether you are in a stage of complete love, or full of bitterness, this simple act can build your love for your spouse and strengthen your marriage. It is so easy to see the negative sides of people. This is an unfortunately reality of our flesh: we remember the bad things and forget the good things.

Making a Love List about your husband is easy and so beneficial. Its basically a “I am thankful you are this way or have this attribute list”.  Grab a journal or piece of paper you can tuck away in your Bible or another book. Think of things you love about him or are thankful for. If you are in a stage of bitterness this can be hard so really think. Maybe you struggle to love your spouse right now BUT he is super sweet and has good work ethics. Maybe you struggle with bitterness towards him for something he did in his past but he works and makes an effort to be better.

List no less than 10 things! It’s like playing the Thankful Game just about your husband. (I’ll talk more about the thankful game in the future.) Immediately after making this list you will feel encouraged and have a renewed love for your husband. It is also a wonderful tool for when you feel frustration or anger towards your man. You can pull it out and immediately remember how wonderful he is. Be a fruitful vine within the home. Not one that is dried up.

Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
Within your house,
Your children like olive plants
Around your table.

Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the LORD.

Psalm 128: 3-4
